BioStar is a site for asking, answering and discussing bioinformatics questions. We are members of the community and find it very useful. Often questions and answers arise at BioStar that are germane to our readers (end users of genomics resources). Every Thursday we will be highlighting one of those questions and answers here in this thread. You can ask questions in this thread, or you can always join in at BioStar.
This week’s highlighted question is….
Ok, so that’s not the usual way we do it here. But yesterday’s very popular Tip of the Week on the Introduction to R leads me to think that people might want to get using R more. And when they do, they are going to have further questions on the best ways to do things. One place to look for help would be BioStar.
Have a look at the questions, there are over 100 of them right now tagged with R. You’ll learn about the kinds of tasks people want to accomplish with R, what kind of research they are engaged in, and suggestions from the BioStar group. There are also likely to be leads within there to other sources of information about given topics and further R-specific discussions around the web.
If anyone has other good places for genomics folks to explore R support, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them here.
