BioStar is a site for asking, answering and discussing bioinformatics questions and issues. We are members of the community and find it very useful. Often questions and answers arise at BioStar that are germane to our readers (end users of genomics resources). Every Thursday we will be highlighting one of those items or discussions here in this thread. You can ask questions in this thread, or you can always join in at BioStar.
I highlighted this question because although there’s a lot of talk about increasingly connecting genomics data and electronic medical records, it’s not easy to find that just yet. And I see questions about finding such sources are pretty common.
Any pointers with regards to databases where I can find publicly available anonymous electronic health records ? I need it for an internal research project.
It’s something that needs to be worked out still–in technical, legal, and social ways–and having researchers using existing examples could help to define the needs and the systems that are going to be the most useful. Check out the current answers and add others if you have them.
