Another day, another genome…

Today it is an algae, Micromonas. This is an organism that is being touted in the press as helpful to biofuels work and possibly to carbon sequestration and mitigation of global warming.  Maybe that’s so.  But it is going to take  me a while to get through the 118 page supplemental material file (a pdf, btw)….

And I  haven’t even begun to explore the data on my own, which is my favorite part of these genome papers :)
