Was following a protein information trail that ended in the error message “Sorry! That service is temporarily unavailable. Data centre offline until Monday, Oct 24, 2011”
If you were planning on staying in & working on InterPro, PRIDE, PDBSum, ELIXIR & more, you might want to replan & go picnicing instead:
“Between Friday 21 October 2011 at 14.00 (GMT+1) and Monday 24 October at 12.00 (GMT+1), EMBL-EBI has taken its Hinxton data centre offline for scheduled maintenance. The downtime will allow a new, greener and more sustainable power source to be attached to the data centre, helping to secure a long-term future of uninterrupted service for the global research community.
Many of our websites and services will be unavailable during this update but a number of services will be unaffected, as they will be run from the London data centres.”
Guess I’ll be mowing & gardening this weekend…
EDIT (must be the weekend for it) – More outage notes:
- From Mouse Genome Informatics: “MGI will be unavailable from 9:00AM-4:00PM ET Saturday, October 22 for system maintenance”
- From Rat Genome Database (RGD): ”Due to maintenance by our internet service provider, the RGD website will be unavailable for a one hour period sometime between 10pm Saturday, October 22 and 1 am Sunday, October 23. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
